Every summer I am reminded how absolutely amazing Minneapolis is for photography and for senior pictures. I’ve been all over the twin cites and have found fantastic locations for your professional senior portraits. There are many historic areas and buildings, modern buildings, vibrant murals and nature areas all around with great light, great texture and depth. These spots are some of the best photography locations in Minnesota. Urban senior pictures, nature senior pictures, creative senior pictures are all options in Minneapolis. You will forever remember your Minneapolis senior pictures fondly if you use one of these locations with a professional photographer.

1. Mill City Museum

There is so much variety and texture here. From the modern look of the Guthrie Theater to the old Minneapolis mill works and don’t forget the Stone Arch Bridge.

2. Loring Park

More variety and texture. There is the old Minneapolis area, nature area and the modern feel of the Walker Art Museum and Sculpture Garden. Take a walk across the Siah Armajani Pedestrian Bridge and take some pictures.

3. St Anthony Main

Old brick street, lots of old buildings with character, modern business buildings and condos. Lots of different looks in a small area to photograph. The Stone Arch bridge entrance is located here. Great for day and night images. Start at the St Anthony Main Movie Theater and walk.

4. The Warehouse District

This area covers several blocks with so many senior picture photography options. Some call this area the North Loop.

5. First Avenue

Not only can you photograph the famous First Avenue Star Wall wall but also alleys and vintage Minneapolis buildings. If you are lucky you will catch a colorful bus as a backdrop.

6. Minneapolis Music Wall

The music wall is a favorite photography location with musicians. Also explore the Foshay Tower and surrounding areas.

7. Lyndale Park Gardens

There is a lot more than roses here for amazing senior pictures. There are 4 themed gardens here. All are beautifully landscaped and provide the perfect background for all types of photography.

8. Uptown

The colorful area of Minneapolis. If you love murals take senior pictures in Uptown. Start at the corner of Lyndale and Lake Street by the Jungle Theater and start walking. There are colorful murals everywhere ready for photography. Check out some of the LynLake street art.

9. Boom Island Park. Great nature options and a great bridge over the river.

10. Minnehaha Falls

A popular spot to visit, take senior pictures and photograph in a very unique environment.
